This letter is true to life, the letter called II John, in the New Testament. There was a serious problem over hospitality. Ladies tend to over-emphasise Love at the expense of Truth. Men can tend to over-emphasise Truth at the expense of Love. John is teaching us how to exercise the proper spiritual balance.
The heart can rule head, and with the man can become too hard where head can rule heart. The balance is truth and love together – and that is not easy.
