The Benefits Exercise Has For You

Tuesday, May 8, 2018 Exercise  No comments

There is an epidemic of obesity in this country. It’s been going on for decades…about as long as the term “couch potato” has been in use. People no longer need to make their own entertainment by going outside and playing ball games. Still less do they need to work manually…which certainly burned off all those excess calories. So now, people have to make a point of exercising and eating right to maintain a healthy body weight. The benefits exercise gives is that it keeps you strong, healthy…and enables you to snack a bit on foods and not gain weight!

It’s an ironic fact of life that despite the many modern labor-savings devices in people’s homes these days, people seem to have less time than ever to get out and “smell the roses...

Total Gym Exercise Review

Friday, April 20, 2018 Exercise  No comments

I obtained the best results myself by doing my workout 3 times a week and sometimes I’d jump on it while watching television on my days off just because I liked it so much. I sold my Total Gym on Ebay after getting a pilates machine, but I have to admit this full body fitness machine is easier and more fun to use. That was one time I shouldn’t have opted for the next trendy fitness machine that showed up on television because I really regret selling mine.

It’s user friendly and believe me even doing squats is great because it is easy on the joints and you can feel it toning your legs and butt which to me is very motivating knowing that these stubborn areas are being lifted. The bench is put in an incline position, so your back is supported...

Exercise Motivation

Tuesday, April 17, 2018 Exercise  No comments

What makes people join a gym class? What makes them start a fitness program? Answers would vary. Maybe they just want to have more energy. Perhaps they’re looking forward to the day when they can look in the mirror and actually like the image looking back at them. Or it can be as simple as just shedding a few pounds. Unfortunately, fitness is not a one time deal. It’s not like you can just pull out your motivation to work out just this one time and then you will be rewarded with your desired results right there and then. One thing is certain, though, it’s hard to sustain motivation. When starting a fitness program, you should have a game plan to combat demotivation later on.

It is hard to stay motivated if you get frustrated. So try to be realistic when setting fitness goals...

Exercise The Brain

Saturday, April 14, 2018 Exercise  No comments

The brain is a muscle which needs to be nourished just like the rest of the body. The brain needs nutrition and oxygen just like the rest of the human body. If the cells are not fed they will atrophy and die. When we exercise the rest of the body the heart pumps blood to the entire body including the brain. The blood flowing to the brain feeds the brain with oxygen and nutrients while it removes waste products. This is vitally important to brain function and is an overlooked aspect of brain condition.

I believe that the athlete has the mental advantage because of this. There is no way that regular exercise can be anything but beneficial to the human brain. Muscle cells will atrophy without exercise and brain cells need to be exercised also...

Eating well can improve your workout and recovery. Whether training for your first half-marathon, heading outside for a vigorous walk, or leaving for a day of skiing, what you eat before and after your outing will play a role in how well you achieve your fitness goals. For a workout to be successful, it must include adequate nourishment to help pump up your exercise and burn belly fat along the way.

Fuel up before you start. Carbohydrates provide energy for your workout and works even better by combining them with a small amount of lean protein. For the morning it could be a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter or low-fat granola with low-fat yogurt...
