Many people, especially those in our culture, attribute leading a balanced lifestyle, at least in part, towards the enjoyment of physical activities that they can regularly engage in. For many people, take away their physical pursuits and throw their balance off.

At this time of year, in our neck of the woods, one of the most popular ways of finding and maintaining balance is through hiking. Banff, Canmore, Kananaskis, Lake Louise, and many other areas in or near Calgary and Alberta offer first rate hiking trails.

One of the things we need to consider in our pursuit of lifestyle balance is our physical balance...

Is Balance Boring?

Thursday, April 5, 2018 Life In Balance  No comments

When I was in my twenties I used to equate a ‘balanced’ life with a boring life. I thought it meant you never took chances, never lived on the edge and never experienced life fully. I equated it to living a predictable, dull life. That was not the life I wanted; maybe it was ‘safe’, but it sure wasn’t appealing.

Well, my definition of a ‘balanced life’ has changed dramatically as I have matured. I am still known for being courageous in many aspects of life (love, relationships, career,…) but I now know that balance is the ‘secret ingredient’ for a life filled with enjoyment, pleasure, peace, wonder, excitement, and yes that feeling of being ‘fully alive’.

When I think about balance now, I think about having a strong core – I relate it to yoga or a physical activity that ...

How to Balance Your Life As a Real Estate Agent

Saturday, March 24, 2018 Life In Balance  No comments

It is not easy to become a real estate agent. While it is true that earning is easy and is more attractive, it should always be noted that paychecks are dependent on transaction volumes. Thus, if you get idle and do not work well to sell properties, you would not be able to hit marks and earn target income. In this regard, many agents find it inevitable to focus more on the business and disregard other personal aspects.

As a typical real estate agent, it may be normal for you to get working at least 18 hours a day. You might get home only to sleep and wake up the following morning to proceed to the same routines. It could be a vicious cycle. You may not notice it but your work might be overtaking and consuming your whole life...

Success in the Balance

Monday, January 29, 2018 Life In Balance  No comments

It doesn’t matter what body you are born into, male or female. Sex has nothing to do with success or happiness. So, whether you are male or female, the balance of the masculine and the feminine energy within you is a key ingredient to holistic success.

A cultural meme has existed for many years that creates either a feminine or masculine definition of success. Consequently we have an old locked in paradigm that the only definition of success is an achievement in measurable, material terms. This measure has caused an infatuation with the future, and a resentment of the NOW. (Resentment may also refer to disregard or lack of appreciation.)

Then, there’s a whole revolutionary group who are obsessed with the feminine side (happiness in the NOW) who have become resentful of the masculine (Goals...
